Aisha R. Pandor
SweepSouth is Africa’s first digital marketplace for booking, managing, and paying for house cleaning services and was started by Aisha R. Pandor, who is also the CEO and co-founder of the company.
Aisha is one of the few black women running IT companies in South Africa and the rest of the world. She has helped SweepSouth become one of the fastest-growing companies in the country.
SweepSouth company made history when it was accepted into Silicon Valley’s 500 Startups incubator.
Aisha got her doctorate in human genetics from the University of Cape Town.
After she finished school, she worked as a management consultant for a while before starting SweepSouth.
In 2017, the World Economic Forum named Aisha as one of six African women who were making progress in their fields.
Alen works to improve education in his home country of South Africa, and he is also one of the people who started the successful business SweepSouth. He is very interested in how math and computer science can be used in real life.
Outside of his work, he is very interested in both basic education and computer science. In 2013, he asked the Department of Basic Education to change its plan to make Delphi a requirement in schools.
He has worked hard to shape the Computer Applications Technology (CAT) and Information Technology (IT) courses taught in South Africa. He has done this by serving on many committees and giving many talks on the subject.
Investors & Funding Rounds
Naspers Foundry put ZAR30 million ($2.1 million) into SweepSouth. This was the first startup investment for the company.
With the money that Naspers Foundry gives, SweepSouth will be able to reach its goals of offering more home-based services and going global.
